Forthcoming Exhibition at The Babylon Gallery.
ADeC is supporting The Big Lunch in Jubilee Gardens on Sunday 18th July from 2-4pm. Everyone is invited to get as many people together for a mass picnic.

ADeC Live! Tickets are now on sale for all our forthcoming events. Cambridge Voices, Bury Theatre Royal, Lau, Arthur Smith, Brian Kennedy John Shuttleworth and Rich Hall will perform at local East Cambs venues.
Ezio & Booga will performing at the Maltings in Ely on Friday 16 July. The duo of Ezio Lunedei and Mark "Booga" Fowell will be playing with talented local singer Aimee Peart -Webb as support.
Punk, poet, legend...John Cooper Clarke will be bringing his unique style of entertainment to The Maltings, Ely on Sunday 16 May. Caroline Cawley, Marketing Manager from ADeC who are promoting the event said ‘He is often referred to as "the bard of Salford" usually refering to himself on stage as "Johnny Clarke, the name behind the hairstyle". He is best known as the original punk poet, working as a support act for many seminal punk bands such as the Sex Pistols, Buzzcocks, The Fall, Joy Division, Elvis Costello and Siouxsie and the Banshees, to name but a few. Expect a mix of hilarious anecdotes of life in a Northern town interspersed with machine-gun fast delivery of some of his best poems.

We were informed on Wednesday afternoon this week that a proposal to end the 18 year partnership between ADeC and East Cambridgeshire District Council from June 2010 is going to the Community Services Committee on Thursday evening, 21 January. ADeC (Arts Development in East Cambridgeshire) have won a national bid to deliver a rap music project with young people in East Cambridgeshire. The Youth Music funded project ‘Beat The Rap’ will start in June and continue until July 2011.
A packed programme of creative activities funded by Cambridgeshire County Council have been put together by ADeC to keep young people aged 13 – 19 years entertained during the holidays throughout the Huntingdonshire district. From Film Making, Belly Dancing, and BBoying to Circus Skills, Beat Boxing and Street Dance there are a wide range of free half day sessions taking place at Huntingdon, Sawtry, Yaxley, St Neots, St Ives, Sommersham and Earith. Following a successful tender for the project ADeC are working with the Youth Centres to develop arts and cultural activities in Huntingdonshire.
Eighteen young people from East Cambridgeshire aged from 12 - 19 years have successfully completed their bronze, silver and gold Arts Award.
The BOSH BASH tour of music workshops allows young people the chance to learn songs and make music. On Thursday 26th August the tour will come to the Glebe in Sutton. Click on the document for full details.
Three local groups have recently benefitted from grant awards from ADeC (Arts Development in East Cambridgeshire). The grants, available to groups in East Cambridgeshire, can be used for a range of purposes from small items of art equipment to employing professional artists to run workshops.
Once again ADeC (Arts Development in East Cambridgeshire) are working with ECDC to stage six bandstand concerts throughout July and August in the wonderful setting of Ely’s Jubilee Gardens. On Saturday afternoons from 2 – 4pm the gardens will come to life with FREE music ranging from classical and folk to rock and pop. Concerts start on Saturday 18 July.

A new tailor-made screening licence has been launched for local film societies and community cinemas by MPLC and BFFS (British Federation of Film Societies)
Rapunzel's Shout, an exhibition of artwork by Emily Haysom, artist and firefighter will be launched at the Babylon Gallery on Ely's Riverside on Saturday 7 August from 2-4pm, entry is free and everyone is welcome. The show features contemplative photographs, text, painting, stitching and installation, capturing what it means to be a female firefighter in today’s Service.
Aspiring young guitarists are invited to join seasoned Fenland Jam professionals in a series of Guitar Workshops being held on 4th, 16th and 25th February and on 11th and 25th March from 7.30pm -9pm. The sessions are being held in conjunction with the Garage Youth Club, The Lighthouse, Chapel Street in Ely.
This summer ADeC (Arts Development in East Cambridgeshire) will be staging their annual series of Saturday afternoon bandstand concerts in Ely’s Jubilee Gardens.

ADeC is inviting you to take a challenge whether it’s playing an instrument at the BOSH BASH, pedaling your way to see the end of the film with our bicycle powered cinema or knitting your own sporting equipment at our Knitathon.
The Babylon Bridge building on Ely’s Waterside is now home to three creative organisations. ADeC have officially taken on the lease on the building and with two commercial tenants, Isle Interactive and Mole Architects, has secured a more permanent home for ADeC and the Babylon Gallery.
